While watching the show, Viktor & Rolf Spring/Summer 2023

빅터앤롤프 23년 SS컬렉션을 감상하며 참 많은 생각이 들었다. "괴리"라는 주제로 이번 컬렉션을 만들었다는데, 이상적인 드레스에 괴리같지 않은 괴리였달까. 

우리가 흔히 입는 드레스를 다른 방향과 위치로 디자인적 요소를 넣었다는 것. 위치가 주는 디자인이 이렇게 현실과 매우 동떨어지는 느낌을 준다는 것을 다시한번 새삼 느끼게 되었다. 한편 괴리적이고 비현실적이다는 느낌과 달리 매일 입는 드레스의 또 다른 생각의 전환이 새로운 아름다움을 재창조할 수도 있겠구나도 깨달았다.

I thought a lot while watching the Victor & Rolf 23rd SS Collection. The collection was created under the theme of "Gorley," but it was not like a gap between an ideal dress.

The fact that we put design elements in different directions and positions of dresses that we commonly wear. I realized once again that the design of the location gives me a very different feeling from reality. On the other hand, I realized that another shift in thinking of a daily dress could recreate a new beauty, unlike the feeling of being disparate and unrealistic.

얼굴을 가린 의상착의부터 옆구리 바로 드레스를 걸치듯 디자인한 게 특히나 눈에 띄었다. 예쁘고 갖고 싶은 드레스를 왜 저렇게 디자인아닌 디자인을 했을까. 특이하게 옷을 변형하는 것, 창조에 틀이 꼭 새로운 것을 만들어내는 것에서 국한되지않는다. 생각해보면 평소입는 드레스를 창조해서 디자인하는 것이 아닌 매일 입거나 매일 생각해 온 옷을 통해 나의 생각과 일상을 전체 창조해는 것, 나는 여기에 집중했다.

Unusually transforming clothes, the framework for creation is not necessarily limited to creating new things. If you think about it, you don't create and design a dress that you usually wear, but through clothes that you wear every day or think about every day, your thoughts and work.

예쁜 옷이 매일 입고 싶은 여성들의 정형적인 미적욕구를 더욱 흥미롭게 고찰하여 괴리라는 표현으로 만든 컨셉에 다시한번 감탄한다. 미래에 저렇게 옷을 입는 날이 오지 않을까? 형형색색의 고급스러운 유리구두나 크리스탈이 잔뜩 우아한 하이힐과 함께.
